Van life follows trips in a camper van or motorhome as stops along the road: the places you drove to, where you slept, and what the next van needs to know to get there.

Add the stops in the order you drove them: the road in, the spot for the night, the view from the door. Note your van, how many nights you stayed, the road surface and size limits, and where you found water, a toilet dump, or power.
Park only where overnight stays are allowed, and ask before you stay on a farm or private land. Never empty grey or black water outside a service point, light fires only in fire pits, and leave the spot as you found it. Locations default to an area here, so quiet wild spots stay quiet.
Plan the whole route before you start, not just the next stop.
Respect private property, restricted areas, and local law. Take care on difficult terrain, and do not photograph people without their permission.
